How to add stories
You can add a story on Positivsitic by clicking the "add story" button at the top of the page.

If you already connected to Positivistic through your Facebook/Twiiter account or your e-mail, then you will be presented with a page where you will be able to craft your article, meaning you will be able to slect a photo for it, give it a title, select a suggestive quote for it, add the story itself as well as select a category for it and input the appropriate tags.

Tips for creating titles

Titles are the gateway to your content, that is why they need to be crafted in such a way the reader will find them irresistible. An irresistible title is one that makes an intriguing promise and determines the person reading it to want to get to the content. (Use numbers as a way of grabbing people's attention. Use words such as how, when, why, what, who, where inside the title, again as a way of determining the reader to explore further).

Some helpful questions to ask yourself when brainstorming for great titles
  1. Is it simple and direct?
  2. Does it state the big benefit?
  3. Does it announce exciting news?
  4. Does it appeal to the "how-to" instinct?
  5. Does it pose a provocative question?
  6. Does it offer useful information?
Tips for writing your story

Remember that Positivistic.com is a platform where both high-profile authors as well as up-and-coming talents share inspirational stories, experiences and general teachings. Our audience is composed from wonderful, inquisitive and enthusiastic individuals.

General guidelines:

  1. Be original: choose a style that reveals your personality and voice but also try to send out a message that inspires people, motivates them and puts them in a good mood. Come up with an idea that is bound to attract attention and determine action. "Sprinkle" your articles with ingredients such as Simplicity, Unexpectedness, Concreteness, Credibility and Emotions.
  2. Be accurate: you are responsible for the accuracy of the information provided in your article and the third party materials it may contain.
  3. Be professional: write your article with a clear beginning/intro, middle and end. Make your intro catchy and make your article easy to read and understand.
  4. Be Positivistic :)
How to add photos to my Positivistic gallery
Post / Upload photos to Positvistic

You can upload a photo to Positivistic directly from your computer by clicking the "add photo" button at the top of the page and selecting the "Choose file" option afterward.

Once the photo is uploaded, you just add the image description and a few descriptive keywords as tags and that's it! The photo will be shown on your profile and the "photos" section of our site, places where users will be able appreciate it through the like button.

Note: You need to be signed in in order to be able to upload photos on Positivistic.

How to view/edit my profile and account settings
You can view your profile by clicking the "Me" button at the top of the page and then selecting the "My profile" option.

The direct link to your profile is http://positivistic.com/your_username

Editing personal information

Once you click the "Me" button at the top of the page, your third option will be "account settings". If you click it then your settings page will open up and you will be able to change all of your personal information from here.

The Account Settings page is structured in three categories: General Settings, Profile and Privacy.

Under General Settings you will be able to edit your:

Name - Your real name. This is the title of your profile and how you will ne known on Positivistic.com. Your name can contain lowercase or uppercarse letters, characters and spaces.

Username - This is the link to your profile page. Your profile URL is http://positivistic.com/your_username. For your username you can only use letters and numbers. Spaces or special characters are not allowed.

Email - Your email address. Set this with a valid e-mail address as you will need it in case you ever lose your password.

Password - On this page you can change your current password. All you have to do is type in your current password and the new one.

Under Profile you will be able to edit your:

Photo - This page allows you to view your current profile photo and also upload a new one in case you want to replace the existing one.

Location - Your city and country. People from all over the world use Positivistic. This is how you know where they're from.

Website URL - You can display a link to your personal site, or a page that hosts a more detailed profile of you. It's a way for people to know more about you and get in touch.

Twitter, Pinterest, Linkedin and Facebook - use these sections to display the links to your profiles.

About page - A few words about yourself which will appear on your profile page. Tell people about the things you like!
How do I following people on Positivistic
Why follow?

Following users enables you to keep updated with the articles and photos that they are adding. When you follow someone, you see their latest articles and photos by clicking the "Following" button from the sub-header menu bar.

Following

The "Following" button is only visible when you are logged in.

To follow someone you simply click the "Follow this user" button which is present on article pages, bellow photos in the gallery section and on profile pages. Once you click the "Follow this user" the button will change to "Following".

Unfollowing

If you want to unfollow someone just go to their profile page and click the "Following" button.
What images are not allowed on Positivistic?
Since Positivistic is a community that encourages openness, positivism and inspiration we will not allow:

  • content that promotes violence or harm against people or animals
  • content that harasses, degrades, or victimizes an individual or group of individuals
  • inappropriate content, such as explicit or pornographic imagery
  • spam content, promoting unsolicited goods, services, or websites

How to report an abusive photo?
When you move your mouse over a photo, you will see the "Report" button on the lower right side. Once you click it you will be able the choose the reason why you're reporting the entry, after which you can click the report button.
